The Problem:
Tradtitional online maps can be expensive to create and maintain. Image-based maps require generation of a new image to incorporate changes and do not allow user interaction. Linking to an off-site mapping service directs the user away from your site, prevents the delivery of an integrated presentation, and does not allow for customization. Moreover, neither of these solutions offer the benefits of multiple viewing styles or the capability to increase or decrease the magnification ('zoom' level).

Google Maps'™ API allows the popular Google Maps™ system to be embedded directly into your website. These maps offer the full interactive functionality of any Google Map™, including navigation and zoom levels, road maps, satellite imagery, and integrated 'hybrid' road / satellite mapping. Custom boundaries and directions can be placed on the map, as well as map markers.

An Example:
One of our clients presented us with a challenge: Show their wine-growing region map (appelation) on a small enough magnification to view the entire region on a single site page, but large enough to make it functional and useful. The client did not want their site visitors to be directed off-site. The previous solution involved hiring an expensive cartography company, using their vector files to create Photoshop .psd files, custom place all of the map's markers, re-sample the image to a usable size and divide it into quadrants.
